About STG

NVQ Intermediate Apprenticeships & Advanced Apprenticeships
(Government Funded)

Summerhouse is funded by the Government for the following:
  • To enrol learners aged 16+ years on NVQ Apprenticeships.  There is no upper age limit for Apprentices.
  • To register the learners with City and Guilds for NVQ and Key Skills programmes.
  • To oversee their training & provide additional training as necessary
  • To deal with the audits & Ofsted Inspectorate.

Each learner has an NVQ work based Diploma Level 2 or 3 portfolio to include Key Skills, provided by Summerhouse. These portfolios are updated to show the learners work based training. When a learner is fully competent an NVQ assessor will sign off their portfolio.

What if you don't want to do NVQs?
What if you're unsure about doing NVQ Apprenticeships - but need funding for training?

READ ON....

  • Many people are still wary of NVQ Diplomas as they are a new style work based qualification
  • People do not realise that they can continue to train for their BHS or ABRS exams as the syllabuses are almost identical to NVQ Diplomas.
  • The main difference is that the government currently only fund NVQ Diplomas.

Whether you wish to train for BHS, ABRS or NVQ exams, NVQs Apprenticeships are the answer

  • NVQ Diplomas are ideal for people who suffer from exam nerves, because you do not have to take a final exam, (with the exception of a paper based Technical Certificate, to be completed at the work place). An NVQ qualification is gained through continual work based assessment.
  • All NVQ Diplomas can be used to gain direct entry to BHS exams.
  • ie NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care (Riding) - direct entry to BHS Stage 2 or BHS Stage 3
  • ie NVQ Level 3 in Horse Care & Management (Riding) - direct entry to BHS Stage 2, 3 or 4.
