Summerhouse is an approved City & Guilds Functional Skills Training Centre. We can provide a complete training programme for candidates and assessors to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications and certification. A Functional Skills Level 2 Qualification is equivalent to a GCSE Grade C, so when you achieve your Functional Skills Maths L2 it will be accepted on your CV the same as a GCSE Grade C
We have a special Functional Skills classroom, IT suite and access to completed Functional Skills portfolio work which show how Functional Skills are used every day in the work place.

What are functional skills?
Functional Skills is a suite of qualifications suitable for anyone wanting to develop their English, Mathematics or ICT skills in order to succeed in all aspects of life, work and other learning.
Available from Entry 1 through to Level 2, these qualifications cover everything from the very basics to more advanced skills. They are supported by a variety of assessment options depending on the specific qualification taken and are designed to reflect the various needs of learners.
Functional Skills are also a mandatory component of all Apprenticeship frameworks in England.
