Helen Gallop - Centre Co-ordinator

Helen is Centre Co-ordinator and a partner in Summerhouse. Helen started the Centre with her mother Sheila Weston in 1982.  She has the BHSI certificate and has competed at advanced level in Horse Trials, Show Jumping and Dressage

She is currently competing Raffles, a Dutch Warmblood by Concorde, jumping 1.35m and Contino, a Belgium Warmblood 6yr old.

Helen spends most of her time either on the road visiting different NVQ Training Locations such as Talland, or at various Education Training Meetings around the Country.  Any other time is spent catching up on the paperwork pile, training her horses and teaching.

Helen's aim is to take her 3 horses to Grade A and to ride Summerhouse Contino in a Prix St.George.

Sheila Weston - Partner

Sheila is a Partner at Summerhouse  and started the school by first running Riding Holidays here.  She has been instrumental in the setting up of the school and ran the Centre when Helen was training and competing. Sheila is now retiered & is enjoying travelling & golf.

Sheila has her BHSAI and is an NVQ assessor. 

John Weston - Partner
  
John is a Partner at Summerhouse and although not horsey has, in the past, kept busy running his own engineering business. He has always had time to support Helen in her competitive career and help with building projects and essential maintenance at Summerhouse. John is now retiered & is enjoying travelling & golf.

John has been involved in the management of the business together with the accounts and budgets.

Nicola Huxford - Reception Team Leader

We welcome Nicola to the Summerhouse Team. Nicola joined us in April 2008 and is working with Denise to take over the running of the reception team.

Irma Sutton - NVQ Co-ordinator

Irma started at Summerhouse in June 2002 as a Senior Instructor and is now NVQ co-ordinator. She moved here from Holland with her horse Jeremy. Irma has the Dutch equivelent of the BHSI. Irma is an NVQ Internal Verifier.

She is currently competing Summerhouse Poker at Novice level dressage and enjoys riding her own advanced horse Jeremy.

Helen works one day a week keeping the Summerhouse accounts in order.

Jane Leach - Instructor
  

Jane joined Summerhouse in November 2004 and has now gained her BHSAI. Aswell as teaching Jane also takes an active role in the College Course. Jane is currently training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate.

Kirsty Rumney - Instructor/Assessor/Show Organisor

Kirsty joined us in June 2003 after doing an Equine Science degree. During her time at Summerhouse she has obtained her Stage 3 and now has her AI. Kirsty is currently training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate.

Sara Gallop - Instructor/Competition Groom/BSJA Course Builder

Sara is Helen Gallop's daughter. She has her BHSII and is currently training for her BHSI Stable Managers and Equitation and Teach Exam. Sara is a BSJA course builder and regularly competes at Senior BSJA events.

She is currently training Summerhouse Don Diego who she rode at the National Championships in 2007. They were also placed at the 2008 Elementary Dressage to Music, Winter Dressge Chamionship this year

Sara and Don Diego have qualified for the Shearwater National and International 6yr olds to be held at the National Championships in Sept 2008. They have also qualified for the Novice and Elementary Summer Regionals

Sara also has a new 4yr old, Summerhouse Zelham, who has qualified for the Shearwater 4yr old at the Nationals and the Badminton Young Horse Finals

She also competes Summerhouse Contino at Elementary and Summerhouse Kiwi at medium level Affiliated dressage.

Sarah Talbot - Trainee Groom

Sarah joined Summerhouse in September 2003 to train as a groom and improve her knowledge of working with horses. Sarah is working to achieve her NVQ 1.

Angela Evans- Part time Instructor

Summerhouse welcomes Angela to join our team on 18th May 2008.

Sandra Jones- Receptionist

Summerhouse welcomes Sandra who joined our team in April 2008.

Rosie Hyett - Instructor

Rosie joined the team in September 2003 and has achieved at Summerhouse her FMA, AMA, and her BHSAI. Rosie is currently training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate

Michael Smith - Trainee Groom

Michael started in July 2007. He came to us wanting to gain experience with horses so he can begin to train as a farrier.

Abi Einzig - Instructor

Abi joined us in 1989 as a student. She now has her BHS IT and Intermediate Stable Managers and a BA (hons) in English. Abi is an Instructor, Assessor, I.V and College course lecturer. Abi has competed at Elementary and Medium Dressage, and has her own horse called Dylan.

Jo Manning - Trainee Instructor

Jo joined the team in February 2008 and is working towards her BHS Stage 1, NVQ 2 and Coaching Certificate. Her aim is to achieve her BHSAI.

Louis Buhagiar - Maintenance

Louis joined Summerhouse in May 05. He brings to Summerhouse his wealth of experience in building, plumbing and maintenence. Louis is originally from Malta where he used to race.

Rosanna Hardwick - Trainee Instructor

Rosanna joined the team in October 2005 and is working towards her BHS Stage 2 and will then be looking forward to her Stage 3 & PTT.

Abi Henshall - Instructor

Abi came to Summerhouse in August 2006 from Stepney Bank stables in Newcastle. She has worked with horses in a variety of disciplines and countries and is aiming to achieve her BHSAI and Stage IV

William Bickham - Trainee Instructor

Will started with us in June 2007. Prior to that, Will worked at a racing stud for 6 months and before that he attended Hartpury college where he achieved his BHS Stage 1. He is now doing his NVQ 2.

Congratulations to William for acheiving his BHS Stage 2 in May 2008. He will now be training towards his BHS 3.

Jenni Prozesky - Show Admin

Jenni is from Cape Town, South Africa and joined the team in April 2006. She has been involved with running shows and owning horses for many years.

Sophie Hodgetts -

Sophie joined the team in December 2007 and is working towards her BHS Stage 3, NVQ 2 and Preliminary Teaching Certificate. Her aim is to achieve her BHSAI.

Gemma Greenberg - Instructor

Gemma did a degree in geology and then went travelling around the world, she came back and gained her stage 3 and PTT at Hartpury. She started at SEC in August and has achieved her BHSAI. Gemma is currently training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate

Bryony Morris - Instructor

Before coming to Summerhouse, Bryony attended Hartpury college, achieving a foundation degree in equine science and her Stage 1,2,3 and PTT. Since coming here she has achieved her BHSAI. Bryony is now training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate

Bryony competes her own horse up to Foxhunter BSJA and is hoping to take her to a higher level.

Hannah Moss - Comp Groom

Hannah started at Summerhouse as an instructor and after taking a short break is now in charge of the competition horses. She is currently training for her BHS Stage 4 and Intermediate Teach Certificate

She has her own horse, Frankie who she is currently schooling on after recently being backed.
